W6 Cafe, the eatery at Google's San Francisco office, and Clorox's Cafe Hive, which feeds employees at the company's Pleasanton campus, both achieved REAL Certification from the U.S. Healthful Food Council, a non-government organization that promotes healthy living to fight obesity and food-related illnesses.
In a news release, the food council said the restaurants earned the certification by achieving certain nutrition standards, such as cooking with vegetables and whole grains, serving small portion sizes, using local and sustainable food sources, and teaching employees to make better choices about what they eat.
The Blue Glass Cafe in the John Hancock Building in Boston and Union Pacific Cafe at the railroad company's Omaha, Neb. headquarters also earned the nutrition certification.
