CASTRO VALLEY -- Two people were transported to a hospital as a precaution after their car slammed into a utility pole Monday afternoon on Redwood Road and Camino Alta Mira.
The solo-car crash occurred around 4:28 p.m., according to CHP Officer Eric Morales. Two people in the car were taken to Eden Medical Center to be checked out, Morales said; the driver sustained minor injuries, and the passenger none at all.
PG&E crews were notified about the pole, which was heavily split after the silver, four-door sedan hit it.
Crews were working to repair it around 6:30 p.m. No outages have been reported in the area.
Officers briefly shut down both northbound and southbound lanes on Redwood Road.
