FREMONT -- The man who jumped off a train trestle into Alameda Creek and later died was identified Sunday as 26-year-old Alan Chung, the Alameda County Coroner's Office said.

Chung, a Fremont resident, was with friends on Saturday who were jumping off the train trestle for fun, police said. Chung jumped into the creek and did not resurface, according to police. Divers discovered his body at about 2:30 p.m.

According to a preliminary investigation, Chung likely drowned. No foul play or suicide was suspected in his death, authorities said.

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
