ANTIOCH -- A big rig truck crossing the two-lane Antioch Bridge stalled on the bridge Tuesday, forcing the northbound lane of Highway 160 to be shut down for about an hour, a California Highway Patrol officer said.
The truck became inoperable while crossing the bridge just before 11:45 a.m., CHP Officer Ron Simmons said. Officers believe the truck ran out of gas, Simmons said.
The southband lane across the bridge also was closed for about 15 minutes, to allow a big-rig tow truck access on the narrow span. Police also closed the Main Street onramp to the highway from Oakley, Simmons said.
Both lanes were reopened for traffic just before 1 p.m., the CHP said.
