The unbeaten U.S. squad will face Serbia in Sunday's championship game in a rematch of a pool-play game after the Serbians beat Australia 63-58. Saint Mary's signee Dane Pineau, who had averaged 12.3 points through the first seven games, was scoreless on 0-for-7 shooting for the Aussies.

Track and field

Ex-Cal star and 2012 Olympian Alysia Montano ran a season-best time of 1 minute, 57.75 seconds to finish third in the 800 meters at an IAAF Diamond League meet in Paris.

Her time is the fastest by an American this season, moves her to No. 3 on the 2013 world list and marks the fourth straight season she has run a sub-1:58 time.

World leader Francine Niyonsaba of Burundi won in a time of 1:57.26.

Stanford's Justine Fedronic finished ninth in 2:00.97 to break the school record of 2:00.98 set by teammate Amy Weissenbach at the U.S. Championships on June 21.

Aquatics

Mariya Koroleva of Walnut Creek and Olivia Morgan of Lafayette competed for the U.S. synchronized swimming team that is third after the team technical preliminary at the World University Games in Kazan, Russia. The team free final is Monday.
