UNION CITY -- A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a car Sunday morning, authorities said.

The pedestrian was hit by the car at approximately 5:15 a.m. in the area of Mission Boulevard and Daggett Avenue, according to Union City police Sgt. Victor Derting.

No information about the pedestrian was given pending confirmation and notification of the family, according to a news release from Union City police.

A car traveling southbound on Mission Boulevard struck the pedestrian who was on the roadway for unknown reasons, according to police. The driver is being cooperative with police, the release said.

All lanes of Mission Boulevard were closed temporarily as police investigated the crash.
