The Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office is asking for the public's help in locating a San Jose real estate agent who is accused of scamming multiple victims out of more than $500,000.
Prosecutors say Amalek Elyassnia of San Jose convinced people to invest in the construction of a medical office building in Modesto. No such project existed, according to the district attorney's office.
On April 22, 2013, the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office charged Elyassnia with 10 counts of grand theft.
Anyone with information regarding Elyassnia's whereabouts is asked to contact District Attorney Investigator John Carrillo at 408-792-2977.
