HAYWARD -- The second downtown street party of the summer takes place Thursday.

The theme of the free party along B Street from Foothill Boulevard to Watkins Street will be a "Star Spangled Summer." Bands performing include Mitch Polzak and the Royal Deuces, the Craig Horton Blues Band, Patron and the Diehards.

Vendors will set up booths along B Street, and there will be street entertainers, face-painting and games for children. There will be a car show with 100 vintage vehicles and two beer/soda gardens, plus several food booths, at the party, which takes place 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The season's final street party is scheduled for Aug. 15.
