CONCORD -- A man who police say used a gun to rob a person in an underground parking garage at an apartment complex Wednesday morning remains on the loose, police said.

The victim in the robbery, whose gender was not released, was not injured physically but did lose cash and other personal belongings, Concord police Lt. Robin Heinemann said. The suspected robber escaped on foot toward Concord Avenue, and police never found him despite using police dogs and blocking off and surrounding nearby streets, Heinemann said.

Police were called to the garage in the 2100 block of California Street just after 1:30 a.m., Heinemann said. The suspected robber walked up to the victim, displayed a handgun in his waist ban and proceeded with the robbery, Heinemann said.

Police said the suspect is a black male in his 20s, approximately 6 feet tall and 170 pounds with a light beard. He was wearing a black flat bill cap and a blue long-sleeve button up shirt, Heinemann said.
