SAN FRANCISCO -- American Eagle Outfitters, the casual clothing retailer popular among high school and college students, will open a technology center in San Francisco on Tuesday.
The nearly 10,000-square-foot tech center will house designers and engineers working to develop new digital marketing strategies and mobile and online platforms to sell the retailer's clothes. It also brings dozens of new jobs to the Bay Area, as American Eagle is hiring up to 100 new employees to fill the office over the next year.
This is American Eagle's first corporate office in San Francisco. The company is headquartered in Pennsylvania.
American Eagle has also joined San Francisco Mayor Edwin Lee's summer jobs initiative. The retailer has hired 10 young adults to work at its Market Street store for the summer.
