Chris Brown and Drake won't have to pay a cent to the New York nightclub owner who wanted $16 million after the pair and their crews trashed a club next door during a brawl last year.
TMZ reports that Brown and Drake were sued by Entertainment Enterprises, the company behind Greenhouse nightclub in NYC. Greenhouse is adjacent to W.i.P nightclub -- where the singers and their entourages got into a bottle-throwing brawl in June 2011. Entertainment Enterprises said its reputation took a massive hit following the ordeal because of its proximity to W.i.P., and that it lost a lot of money as a result.
But the judge ruled that neither entertainer had a duty to Greenhouse to behave well -- especially because their brawl didn't even occur on its premises. And while club brawls are unfortunate, they're not uncommon, the judge noted (that sound you just heard was hundreds of New York City nightclub owners rushing to call their insurance agents), meaning EE can't sue every time a fight happens.
