UNION CITY -- Police are seeking victims who may have fell prey to a flasher who exposed himself to a teenage girl Tuesday outside a downtown liquor store.
The 14-year-old victim told officers that at 4:15 p.m. she was walking on Alvarado Niles Road when she was followed by a vehicle driven by an older male suspect -- identified by police as Zenaido Gonzalez, 27, of Union City.
The girl felt uncomfortable so she walked into Niles Liquors on the 34500 block of Alvarado Niles Road to take shelter, police Cmdr. Ben Horner said. As the suspect waited outside the store in a parking lot, the girl called her mother to report the strange behavior.
When the victim exited the store, the suspect exposed his genitals to her, Horner said.
The victim's mother arrived and she and her daughter led officers to the suspect who they found after he parked vehicle at his 10th Street address -- about one mile from the store, Horner said.
The suspect later confessed to his "inappropriate actions" and also admitted to exposing himself to about eight other unknown people in the area. He was arrested on suspicion of indecent exposure then booked into the Santa Rita Jail.
On Wednesday online jail records show Gonzalez had posted bail.
Anyone who may be a victim to the indecent exposure is asked to contact Union City police at 510-471-5231.
