ANTIOCH -- A 34-year-old Antioch man has been arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing Saturday night at a gas station in the city, police said.

Police did not identify the suspect, who was taken into custody after the stabbing around 7:40 p.m. at a Chevron gas station in the 3200 block of Delta Fair Boulevard. The man initially was classified as a person of interest.

Police confirmed the victim's identity Monday evening as 49-year-old Kann Cendejas, of Antioch.

The charges against the unidentified suspect are expected to be announced later this week after the case is reviewed by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office, police said.

Officers have released few details about the stabbing. The man was found wounded when police arrived Saturday, and he was pronounced dead after being taken by ambulance to a hospital, police said.
