ANTIOCH -- Authorities on Thursday continued to search for an 18-year-old man suspected of stabbing a family dog and his pregnant teenage girlfriend.
Police said Johnny Madden remains at large after the Wednesday morning stabbing of a6-month old shepherd puppy and his 16-year-old girlfriend, who is pregnant with twins. Police said the girl was stabbed in the leg and abdomen.
Madden fled from a home in the 2200 block of Hamlin Drive after the 10:36 a.m. incident and has not been captured, police said. The girl and her unborn children were not seriously injured. The dog needed emergency surgery and had part of his liver removed.
In the hours before the stabbing, a Facebook page belonging to Madden had postings referring to getting "turnt up," slang for getting drunk and high. Family and friends have also posted on social media about the incident.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Madden is asked to call the Antioch Police Department at 925-778-2441.
