RICHMOND -- A motorcyclist who died after crashing his motorcycle for the second time in a day, was identified Friday as 27-year-old Kristofer Jauron of Suisun.

Jauron was found lying in the street next to his motorcycle around 3:24 p.m. Thursday at Castro Street and Tewksbury Avenue, just off eastbound Interstate 580, California Highway Patrol officer Daniel Hill said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A man riding another motorcycle with Jauron said he crashed his motorcycle near Stinson Beach earlier Thursday but chose to drive home rather than seek treatment, Hill said. Jauron told the man riding with him that he wasn't feeling well, Hill said.

As Jauron approached the Castro Street exit, police said, he slumped over the handlebars, veered right and crashed.

Police originally said Jauron was a Richmond resident, but amended that Friay.
