HERCULES -- A 46-year-old Lucky's employee was arrested after allegedly stealing $700 worth of meat at the Hercules store on Labor Day, police said.
Roger Curlee, of Hercules, is facing an embezzlement charge for the alleged meat heist on Sept. 2. Police say Curlee, while working at around 11 p.m., got two shopping carts, filled them with meat, and left the store with them one at a time.
The store's security team contacted police 3 p.m. Tuesday. Curlee was arrested Tuesday and booked at the Martinez Detention Facility.
Police estimate the loss at $700. An assistant store manager refused to comment Wednesday.
