OAKLAND -- A 40-year-old Pittsburg man was shot to death Monday night in East Oakland, police said.
The man's name was not released, pending notification of relatives.
The shooting happened about 11:09 p.m. in the 2400 block of 89th Avenue. The man died at the scene. Police don't have a motive yet and no arrests have been made.
Police weren't sure why the man was in Oakland but noted he grew up in another part of East Oakland and may have been visiting someone.
