Stanford All-American left guard David Yankey won't play Saturday against Washington State because of a family situation that required him to return home, the school announced Tuesday night.

The Cardinal added that Yankey, a junior from Roswell, Ga., "is healthy and in good standing with the team.'' No timetable was given for his return.

Sophomore Joshua Garnett will start in place of Yankey.

The game is at CenturyLink Field in Seattle. Garnett is from Puyallup, Wash., approximately 30 miles from Seattle.
