RICHMOND -- Three people have been arrested on suspicion of killing a 43-year-old man who was shot while driving just blocks from the city's Cinco de Mayo parade, police said Thursday.
Richmond residents Kevin Thongsay Vilayngeun, 33, Brittany Bernard, 25, and Boonsy Manivan, 31, were arrested Wednesday and have been charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder and robbery in the slaying of Rodell Sarmiento.
Sarmiento, of Daly City, was shot while driving in the 2000 block of Chanslor Avenue at 8:30 a.m. on May 4, causing him to crash into a house near 18th Street, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said the trio allegedly lured Sarmiento from Casino San Pablo before the shooting.
