FORT BRAGG -- Detectives are investigating the slaying of two Bay Area residents found dead in a minivan last week, authorities said.

The bodies of Jim Tat Kong of San Pablo and Cindy Bao Feng Chen of San Francisco were discovered Oct. 17 in the van parked off Highway 20 outside Fort Bragg in Mendocino County, police said. The van was not visible from the highway.

Chen, 38, was found in the driver seat beside Kong, 51, who was seated in the front passenger seat. Both victims had head wounds, but authorities did not say if they had been shot. The cause of death is pending the results of an autopsy, according to police.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call the Mendocino County Sheriff's Office tip line at 707-234-2100.
