An Antioch resident drove her car into a convenience store Thursday, slightly hurting a person inside but otherwise damaging only the car and the building, police said.
The accident happened at 8:59 a.m. at the 7-Eleven located at 3701 Sunset Lane, Antioch police Lt. Tammany Brooks said. According to police, the 67-year-old driver pushed down on the gas pedal instead of the brake. Police did not say how much the car accelerated before going into the store, but it was fully inside the store when police arrived, Brooks said.
A person inside the store complained of pain but refused medical treatment, Brooks said. Police did not say how crowded the store was when the car went into it.
The driver was not injured, nor did she appear to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, Brooks said. Business resumed at the store shortly thereafter.
