WASHINGTON -- The FBI is asking for the public's help to identify a man suspected of sexually exploiting a child, the agency said this week.
Photographs and posters show the man, known as John Doe 27, being photographed while engaging in sexually explicit activities with a child. The images were first recorded by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in April.
FBI officials have not yet linked the man to any specific region or state in the United States.
The photographs, according to the FBI, are still being circulated on the Internet on numerous child pornography forums.
To help identify the man, the FBI enhanced several images that may help people to recognize where the incidents are taking place or the name of the man or his victim. Some images show the man and his victim inside a residence with a distinct plaid chair. John Does 27 also has male pattern baldness on the back of the his head and a ring on his right ring finger.
The FBI added that they thought the man may have referred to himself as "Jimmy" in audio recordings.
The man appears to be a Caucasian male, possibly in his 40s or 50s, with dark hair and dark eyes.
