Two East Bay residents were arrested Monday when an alleged shoplifting incident in Greenbrae led to the seizure of suspected methamphetamine.

The incident occurred at Bon Air Shopping Center, where a woman allegedly tried to steal about $300 worth of food and alcohol from the Mollie Stone's market.

A security officer chased the woman and police were called to the scene. The woman and a man were arrested at the car after finding a small amount of suspected meth inside, said Central Marin police Lt. Theo Mainaris.

The suspects were identified as Phongsy Sayavong, 38, of Pinole and Julien Lagman, 38, of Hercules.
