STOCKTON -- Police say one person is dead and three others were wounded following a daytime shooting at a park in Northern California.

Stockton police spokesman Officer Joe Silva says the shooting occurred Wednesday afternoon at Constitution Park in Stockton.

Silva says a 20-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene from gunshot wounds and a 22-year-old man and two teenage boys were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The victims' names have not yet been released.

Silva says no arrests have been made as police are searching for possible suspects and a motive for the shooting.

Police say the shooting happened in a high crime area known for gang and drug activity as witnesses reported hearing as many eight to 10 gunshots.

The incident is under investigation.
