No one was injured in the blaze that broke out in the back of a home in the 1900 block of Alvarado Street about 3:50 a.m. The fire burned heavy on two floors of the home and a second alarm was called before crews knocked down the fire at 4:35 a.m., fire officials said.

The cause of the fire was not known and a damage estimate was not available late Friday, said Alameda County Fire spokeswoman Aisha Knowles.
