CONCORD -- A man on foot near the Pleasant Hill/Contra Costa Centre BART station was injured Tuesday morning after he ran into a car, the California Highway Patrol said.
The man was walking on Jones Road at Treat Boulevard around 6:35 a.m. when he crossed the intersection in the crosswalk against the traffic signal, according to the CHP.
The man ran into a Mazda that was going through a green light at about 5mph, the CHP said, and an ambulance took the man to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek with moderate injuries. Authorities initially reported that the man sustained serious injuries.
The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with police.
