DUBLIN -- An elderly woman was tied up by three assailants in a home-invasion robbery Monday night, police said.

The 80-year-old resident was asleep when three men broke into her home, tied her up, and demanded money and other valuables around 9 p.m. at the home in the 5100 block of Cerreto Drive, according to Dublin police.

The suspects stole an unspecified amount of cash and jewelry. The woman was not injured and notified a neighbor, who called the police.

No arrests have been made in the case, police said. The suspects were described as in their 20s and were driving a newer model, dark-colored Chevrolet or GMC pickup truck. Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the Dublin Police Department at 925-556-4540.

Home-invasion robberies are rare in Dublin, although there has been an increase in home burglaries in recent months, according to Lt. Nate Schmidt.

The Dublin Police Department will hold a community meeting Thursday, March 6 at Dublin City Hall, located at 100 Civic Plaza, to alert residents about the trend and talk about preventive measures. The meeting starts at 7 p.m.
