RICHMOND -- A 23-year-old man was shot and killed and three others injured Saturday night in front of a home in North Richmond, officials said.

Sheriff's deputies responded about 10 p.m. to reports that several people had been shot in front of a residence in the 1600 block of 1st Street, said Contra Costa County Sheriff's spokesman Jimmy Lee. They arrived to find two people suffering from gunshot wounds, and learned that two other shooting victims had been taken by car to Doctors Medical Center in San Pablo.

The 23-year-old man was taken to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, where he died from his injuries, Lee said. The three others are expected to survive their injuries.

The victim's identity has not been released, Lee said, and neither a suspect nor a motive has been identified.
