SAN LEANDRO -- A solo-vehicle rollover crash that injured at least one person had two lanes of traffic blocked Tuesday afternoon along northbound Interstate 880, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The person, whose identity was not immediately known, suffered major injuries, said Officer Ron Simmons.

Officers responded at 11:19 a.m. to the highway just north of Davis Street off-ramp for reports of a vehicle overturned in the crash with someone trapped inside, Simmons said.

The person, who suffered major injuries, was taken to a local hospital.

Police initially shut down all lanes of the highway but as of 12:20 a.m. had reopened at least two lanes of traffic.

There was no estimate yet for when the roadway would be cleared, Simmons said.

Motorists are being asked to avoid the area.
