ANTIOCH -- A person shot in the head late Thursday night was expected to survive, police said Friday.

Police were called to the 100 block of E. 6th Street around 11 p.m. and found a male with a single gunshot wound to the head, according to Antioch police Acting Lt. Don LaDue said. Police did not describe the nature of the wound, but LaDue said the person was taken by ambulance to a hospital and that his prognosis was good.

Police did not identify the victim or give his age.

No arrests have been made in connection to the shooting, but police said they believe the victim may have known the shooter, LaDue said. Police are pursuing leads to identify the suspect, LaDue said.
