ANTIOCH -- A blaring alarm led to the discovery early Friday morning of 500 marijuana plants inside a vacant house, police said.
Police have not identified any suspects in the aftermath of the discovery, which happened when they responded to a report of an alarm on Hawthorn Court at 12:21 a.m., Antioch police Sgt. Tony Morefield said.
Officers heard the alarm and found the front door unlocked. They proceeded to do a security sweep of the residence and found about 500 marijuana plants, which were seized for evidence, Morefield said.
Police also seized equipment used in the cultivation of the weed, he said.
