ANTIOCH -- Two men robbed a gas station convenience store at gunpoint Thursday night and were able to escape without being caught, police said.

A clerk at the Dutch Pride Gas & Food store, located at 507 W. 18th St., called police around 5:35 p.m. to report the robbery, according to Antioch police Sgt. Trevor Schnitzius, but the two suspects were gone by the time police arrived at the store. Police dogs were used to search the area without success.

Police said the two suspects were men, both between 20 and 25 years old and wearing light gray-hooded sweatshirts. The took an undisclosed amount of cash and each man was armed with a semi-automatic handgun.

The male and female employees inside the store when it was robbed were not injured, Schnitzius said.
