HAYWARD -- A Hayward police officer was hospitalized briefly after the patrol car he was driving was struck by another vehicle Tuesday night, police said.
The officer was en route to an unspecified incident with his lights and siren on around 8 p.m., when the other vehicle T-boned the patrol car near the intersection of Santa Clara and Jackson streets, Sgt. Mark Ormsby said.
According to Ormsby, the officer was treated for his injuries and released. Police did not release his identity.
