ANTIOCH -- A man found bleeding from a stab wound to his back, in front of a 7-Eleven early Thursday, was in stable condition and expected to survive following surgery, police said.

Emergency crews treated the man there and took him by ambulance to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, where he underwent surgery.
The incident remains under investigation and anyone with information is urged to call the Antioch Police Department at 925-778-2441.
