SAN FRANCISCO -- Police have arrested a 29-year-old Oakland man on suspicion of attempted murder and other charges in connection with a shooting at a San Francisco department store last month.

Henry Smith was also arrested on suspicion of robbery, aggravated assault with deadly weapon after he shot a man in the groin area on the night of June 25 at the TJ Maxx Store in the 800 block of Harrison Street in the South of Market neighborhood, police said. Police said the victim chased Smith after he stole the victim's phone.

The victim, whose name and age were not released, survived his injury and is recovering. Police arrested Smith without incident in the area of Leavenworth and Ellis Streets in the Tenderloin District last Wednesday.¿ He was booked into San Francisco County Jail.
