OAKLAND -- An Alameda County jury on Tuesday convicted a San Leandro man of raping a young girl multiple times.

Arthur Esver, 57, faces a prison sentence of at least 115 years to life at his sentencing before Judge Vernon Nakahara on Oct. 24, according to prosecutor Samantha Kim.

The jury deliberated for about a day before convicting Esver of four counts of felony intercourse or sodomy on a child under 10, and one count of felony sex crime with a child under 10.

The victim is a relative of Esver who was 9 years old when she disclosed the abuse in 2011. Among the witnesses at the trial was an adult woman who testified that Esver also sexually abused her when she was a child 25 years ago.

Esver's attorney argued that he was innocent of the allegations against him.
