WALNUT CREEK -- A pine tree toppled over and landed atop three cars in the parking lot of a business center Wednesday afternoon.

The owners of the cars each were working when the Monterrey Pine fell Wednesday around 12:30 p.m. across the street from a Kaiser Permanente medical campus. Officials were still trying to figure out how to remove the tree, which was located on private property.

A Mercedes SUV sustained the most significant damage, with large dents in its roof and hood. The two other cars, a Toyota truck and a Honda, were scratched.

Nobody was injured. Workers at the building said the owner of the Toyota had been on the job for only two weeks and had decided at the last minute not to have lunch inside his car.
