A Berkeley man suspected of shooting and wounding a man last month has been arrested, police announced Thursday.

Oakland police collared 50-year-old Arthur Palmer on suspicion of attempted murder after locating him Monday night around 5:15 p.m. at 14th Street and Broadway, Berkeley police said.

Detectives in Berkeley identified Palmer as a suspect in a shooting in the 3000 block of San Pablo Avenue on June 26.

The shooting occurred around 9:55 p.m. and wounded a 38-year-old unidentified man who has since has recovered, police said.

Police were able to obtain an arrest warrant on Palmer after identifying him as the suspect. He surrendered without incident and was taken to Berkeley City Jail. He was being held without bail and scheduled to be arraigned in Alameda County Superior Court on Thursday afternoon.
