HAYWARD -- Off the Grid is moving its food trucks, which roll into town Mondays, to City Hall.

Eight to 10 trucks will be parked on Watkins Street, facing City Hall Plaza, starting Aug. 4. The trucks had been in a triangular city park at C Street and Foothill and Mission boulevards since 2012.

When Hayward began a one-way downtown traffic loop in 2013, it removed on-street parking near the triangular park.

"One of the challenges we had in our previous location was that people had a hard time reaching us because of parking," said Matt Cohen, Off the Grid founder.

The new site is across the street from a city parking garage and near the Hayward BART station. The trucks will be next to a grassy area outside City Hall.

Trucks that will be in Hayward from 5 to 9 p.m. Aug. 4 are Cluck it Up, Go Streatery, Grilled Cheese Bandits, KoJa Kitchen, Naked Chorizo, Sanguchon, We Sushi and The Creme Brulee Cart. For more information, go to www.offthegridsf.com.
