A man hit by a train in Antioch last week has died, authorities said Monday.
Christopher Weston, 31, was walking on tracks on a bridge connecting Sixth Street with Fulton Shipyard Road at 7:35 a.m. Friday morning when the train struck him, police said.
Weston survived the initial impact and was airlifted to John Muir Medical Center, authorities said. He died there late Friday night, according to the Contra Costa County Coroner's office.
According to the coroner, Weston was a transient.
The freight train hit Weston on Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway tracks and was en route to Chicago.
