ANTIOCH -- An Antioch man was fighting for his life after being critically injured in a shooting Thursday night, police said.
Officers arrived to find the 28-year-old with a gunshot wound at the intersection of 17th and C streets around 7:25 p.m., Antioch police Lt. Tony Morefield said. An ambulance took the man to a hospital, and police said he was in grave condition Friday morning.
Police were investigating the shooting and did not say whether they have any suspects or a motive.
Antioch Middle School, located just two blocks away, was holding its open house for parents when police were called to the scene.
