BERKELEY -- The search for a missing UC Berkeley graduate student continued Sunday morning, a day after search efforts turned up her car near Point Reyes, police said.
Shuqin Zhang, 22, went missing early morning Thursday, according to Berkeley police spokesman Officer Jennifer Coats. On Saturday, authorities found her unoccupied 2012 Mercedes-Benz C250 near the Point Reyes Lighthouse in Marin County.
The National Park Service, U.S. Coast Guard and Marin County Search and Rescue team all were participating in the search Sunday.
Acquaintances last saw Zhang around 1:30 a.m. Thursday, and authorities received information she may have gone to Bodega Bay around 3:40 a.m.
Police have been told that Zhang was depressed and out of character recently, and they are concerned she may be suicidal. She also missed a scheduled flight to to China on Friday morning.
Zhang is approximately 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighs about 90 pounds, wears glasses and may be wearing a teal-colored sweatshirt.
