ANTIOCH -- A car drove off the Antioch Marina and plunged about 5 feet into the water Thursday night, a fire dispatcher said.

Antioch police alerted firefighters to a vehicle that had gone into the water at 10:32 p.m. near the marina located at 5 Marina Plaza, said a Contra Costa Fire dispatcher.

A female extricated herself from the sinking vehicle before firefighters arrived, the dispatcher said. She will be hospitalized for her unknown injuries.

Authorities have yet to determine if anyone else was in the car.

The U.S. Coast Guard is heading to the scene.
