OAKLAND -- A man was shot to death Sunday afternoon in North Oakland, police said.

Officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 6000 block of Idaho Street at 1:54 p.m. and found the man unresponsive at the scene, Oakland police Officer Kyle Hazen said. Paramedics provided emergency care but eventually pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Police said they have no motive or suspects in the slaying, which is the city's 13th homicide of 2016. Last year at this time, there were 22 homicides investigated by Oakland police.
