Lennon music at concert tonight
ANTIOCH — Drew Harrison, the "John Lennon" vocalist of the San Francisco Bay Area's premiere Beatles tribute band, The Sun Kings, celebrates the life and music of the renowned singer at a concert at 8 p.m. tonight at El Campanil Theatre, 602 W. Second St.
"In the Spirit of Lennon" is Harrison's tribute to Lennon, and interpretation of his music. His intimate and emotional performance has been seen and heard nationwide, in South America and in Europe. Most recently, he was invited to perform at the Latin American Beatles Fest in Buenos Aires and in Louisville, Ky., where he performed at Abbey Road on the River, both solo as well as with The Sun Kings.
Admission is $22 for seniors (62 and over), $20 adults, $10 for youths (under 18).

'Day of the Dead' art on exhibit
PITTSBURG — Los Medanos College Art Gallery will host an "Unforgettable/Inolividable" exhibit Tuesday through Nov. 5.
The exhibition is a celebration of the Mexican holiday "Day of the Dead," and is in observance of National Hispanic Heritage Month. Carmen Aguilar-Ochoa, executive director of Give Always to Others & Co., will guest curate the exhibit, which will feature several artists who use Day of the Dead
A reception will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 7 at the gallery. For the last two weeks of the exhibition, Day of the Dead altars also will be on display. The gallery is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Admission is free; parking is $2.

Group to perform ABBA music

The group performs 20 of the ABBA's greatest hits in full ABBA 1970s fashion and flair.

Hapgood opens with 'Odd Couple'
ANTIOCH — Hapgood Theatre Company kicks off its 2009-10 season with Neil Simon's "the Odd Couple" at 8 p.m. Oct. 16 at the Nick Rodgriguez Community Center Theater, 213 F St.
Directed by Jack Stauffer, the play will star Equity actors Michael Barrett Austin as Felix Unger and Allen Pontes as Oscar Madison.
Performances are at 8 p.m. Oct. 16, 17, 23, 24, 30 and 31; 2 p.m. Oct. 17, 18, 24, 25, 31 and Nov. 1.

ANTIOCH — Frank J. Ballesteros Productions' Antioch Children's Theatre will present five plays in repertory starting tonight at 7:30 p.m. with "Rebel Without a Cause."

British comedy opens Oct. 9
PITTSBURG — Pittsburg Community Theatre will present the comedy, "No Sex Please, We're British" Oct. 9-24 at Pittsburg's Creative Arts Building, 250 School St.
This hilarious, fast-paced British comedy aims to tickle your funny bone and help chase away the blues. Directed by Betty Brown, the play is set in the 1960s in Royal Windsor, England. Thirteen cast members from around the Bay Area will bring this comedy to life, including veteran actors as well as some new to the scene.

Vagabond to perform 'Odd Couple'

The play centers on the meticulously neat and highly organized Florence and the disorganized and messy Olive, a seriously mismatched pair. Florence's compulsive cleaning and her many irritating habits slowly get on Olive's nerves. And when Florence ruins a promising evening with two sexy brothers, Olive has had enough and shows Florence the door.

Filipino singers to perform at El Campanil

BRENTWOOD — The Weber Gallery and MCM Framing and Masking presents the etchings and drawings of acclaimed artist Doug Desmond of Caspar through Oct. 16.

'House of Wax' to be shown Oct. 25
ANTIOCH — The 1953 classic film "House of Wax" will be shown at 2 p.m. Oct. 25 at El Campanil Theatre, 602 W. Second St.
The horror film stars Vincent Price as a sculptor of wax figures who tries to launch his own wax museum, the opening of which coincides with the sudden disappearance of some bodies from the city morgue.
