'The Fabulous Follies' at Antioch's El Campanil

ANTIOCH -- The Vagabond Players presents "The Fabulous Follies," a revue with 50 singers, dancers and performers, at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday at El Campanil Theatre, 602 W. Second St.

The Vagabond Players first delighted audiences with a similar musical revue at El Campanil two years ago. The lavish stage production, with Las Vegas-style Showgirls, celebrated Vagabond Players' many years of producing plays and musicals for Contra Costa County's seniors and community. Now in its seventh year, the Vagabond Players continues to fulfill its mission of bringing quality entertainment to the senior community.

"The Fabulous Follies" will showcase the talents of performers from ages 25 to 75 in lavish costumes, dancing, singing and entertaining. It's a showcase of not only senior talent but also professional artists of all ages in an eclectic combination of dance, comedy.

Several choreographers have been invited to participate in the show, including the "Starr Steppers" from Rossmoor as well as Dolly's Tappers from Napa. Mike Spellman of Brentwood, and Ella Wolfe of Crockett share their vocal talents as well.

Sharon Redman will direct and choreographer Jennifer Miller is choreographer for this show.

Reserved seating tickets are $24 general admission, $20 for seniors (62 and up), and $15 for youths under 17. For reservations, go to
