BRENTWOOD -- Police are on the hunt for a man who robbed a Bank of the West Branch Wednesday, a department spokesman said.

Around 12:07 p.m., officers responded to a robbery at the Bank of the West, located at 4540 Balfour Road, Brentwood Sgt. Walter O'Grodnick said.

The suspect is described as a white male in his late teens to early 20s, roughly 5 feet 10 inches tall and 150 pounds. He had light colored hair and a short goatee with a piercing beneath his lower lip, O'Grodnick said.

Witnesses told police the man produced a demand note and robbed the bank of an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing on foot.

Nobody was injured during the robbery.

The suspect was last seen wearing wire rim eye glasses, a light gray Oakland A's baseball cap, a long sleeve, dark colored shirt with vertical stripes, dark jeans and dark shoes.

Anyone with information on the suspect or the case can contact Detective Mike Thompson at 925-809-7765 during regular business hours or 925-778-2441 after 5 p.m.

If you see this suspect, do not attempt to approach or apprehend him. He is considered dangerous and could possibly be armed. Immediately notify your local law enforcement agency by calling 911.
