Annie's recalling frozen pizza
Berkeley-based Annie's has initiated a voluntary recall of Annie's Rising Crust Frozen Pizza due to possible fragments of metal caused by a faulty screen at a flour mill.
The affected pizza products are distributed at grocery, mass and natural food stores throughout the United States, the natural and organic foods company said.
Berkeley-based Annie's said the fragments consist of flexible metal mesh.
All varieties of Annie's Rising Crust Frozen Pizza that have a "best by date" from Jan. 9, 2013, through Sept. 14, 2013, have been recalled.
The Rising Crust Frozen Pizza represented Annie's first foray into the pizza sector and is one of the company's newest products.
BrightSource, SoCal Edison dump solar deal
Oakland-based BrightSource and Rosemead-based Southern California Edison have terminated a power purchase agreement for a solar thermal power plant near the Mojave Desert city of Blythe, according to a state regulatory filing.
The solar energy company and the utility said they mutually terminated their contract. The termination involves the Rio Mesa 2 project in the desert.
BrightSource also asked the state agency to suspend permitting activities for its adjacent Rio Mesa 1 solar complex.

Adept to launch new industrial robot
Pleasanton-based Adept Technology is poised to launch a new industrial robot that can navigate indoors and around people and unexpected obstacles.
The Lynx Autonomous Indoor Vehicle will be introduced at the Automate and ProMat trade shows.
The new robot can carry payloads of up to 132 pounds, Adept said.
Manufacturing, warehousing, clean technologies, and health care operations are among the target markets for the new robot.
