American Airlines and US Airways are expected to announce a merger on Thursday, creating the world's largest air carrier and rescuing American from bankruptcy. The marriage, which could be the last of the mega airline mergers, will impact travel at the Bay Area's three largest airports, where the airlines fly several times a day.

Here's a breakdown of daily US Airways and American Airlines flights from San Francisco, Oakland and San Jose.

US Airways

San Francisco (SFO): eight departures with service to Charlotte, Phoenix and Philadelphia

Oakland (OAK): five departures with service to Phoenix

San Jose (SJC): five departures with service to Phoenix

American Airlines

San Francisco: 28 departures with service to Chicago-O'Hare, Dallas-Ft. Worth, Portland, Los Angeles, Palm Springs, Miami, New York, Seattle and international destinations

Oakland: no flights

San Jose: 12 departures to Chicago-O'Hare, Dallas-Ft. Worth and Los Angeles
