A 15-year-old boy was shot Saturday afternoon while walking along a south San Jose sidewalk Saturday afternoon, and is being treated at a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries, according to San Jose Police.

The assailant or assailants fled before police arrived.

Police said the shooting may be gang related.

The victim was found on the sidewalk in the 1500 block of Pomona avenue. Police said he had been shot at least once a few moments earlier on the 200 block of San Jose Avenue.
